The Role
The AVP, Domestic Transportation role leads strategic and tactical domestic operations activities for all modes of transportation – ocean, air, parcel, and domestic freight. These activities include planning, developing, and maintaining a transportation network built for consistency and reliability, while leveraging technology and reporting to drive data-based decision-making. This leader is responsible for optimizing current-state networks while continually looking for ways to streamline processes and enhance network capabilities to evolve for future needs. This role requires the ability to positively influence outcomes at all levels, lead a U.S.-based, high-performing team, and build collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners.

Your Impact

  • Lead the execution of a customer-focused, transportation network strategy for the flow of VS&Co merchandise to include parcel, ocean, air, and domestic modes, and related projects and initiatives supporting the domestic transportation network.
  • Direct negotiation strategies for new contracts with service providers to enable future growth initiatives  
    Lead team to set & execute transformative goals, to innovate and eliminate obstacles to support driving business results and growth, and to work collaboratively with global transportation partners to drive overall efficiencies and teamwork
  • Assess and develop leadership talent for high performance, and build depth of talent bench.
    Lead initiatives to drive process improvement, cost efficiencies, 3PL efficiencies, etc.
  • Leverage partners and technology tools to discern critical data and provide informed points of view. 
  • Act as a strategic thinker with industry insight to anticipate needs and lead through changing business conditions, providing proactive business updates, actions, and resolutions to internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Guide third parties to alignment & partnership with key strategies, solutions, and problem resolution
  • Engage cross-functional partners at all levels; communicate persuasively, understand stakeholder interests while facilitating movement to end goals
  • Lead broader business solution/strategy discussions as a transportation expert and facilitate communication throughout the business.

Minimum Salary : $178,000.00
Maximum Salary : $252,315.00

VS&Co provides an estimated range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual compensation will be determined by a number of relevant factors, including but not limited to your specific skills, experience, & geographic location.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of transportation leadership experience to include day-to-day operations of airfreight forwarding, ocean carriers, parcel, and trucking
  • Experience in retail and e-commerce environment strongly preferred 
  • Talent leadership skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address root causes of transportation and logistics issues
  • Ability to balance independent decision-making with cross-functional collaboration, communication, active listening, and negotiation capabilities
  • Experience with logistics technology, including transportation management systems
  • Working knowledge of P&L, forecasting, budget, costing, etc.
  • Understand the fundamentals of contract negotiation
  • Ability to travel domestically (10%); internationally as needed
