Senior Security Engineer

Purpose

Our team is seeking an experienced technologist to join our Cybersecurity team. This Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing micro-segmentation strategies using advanced solutions to enhance network security within the organization’s data centres, remote offices and cloud environments. This role involves collaborating with networking, and application teams to segment and protect critical assets, reduce attack surfaces, and improve threat detection and response capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement micro-segmentation policies and strategies using Akamai Guardicore platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical applications and workloads requiring segmentation
• Analyse network traffic flows and dependencies to develop effective segmentation rules
• Deploy and manage Guardicore agents across servers and virtual machines in various environments
• Monitor and fine-tune segmentation policies to minimize operational impact while maximizing security
• Respond to security incidents by leveraging micro-segmentation insights to contain threats
• Develop documentation, runbooks, and best practices for micro-segmentation deployment and management
• Provide training and support to IT and security teams on Guardicore micro-segmentation
• Work directly with application team / Digital  to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving DDoS mitigation, firewall rules, SSL/TLS, network confirmation, and other security configurations
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles, technical guides, and troubleshooting documentation
• Compare traffic signatures and attributes including IP addresses, cookie variations, HTTP headers, and JavaScript footprints to determine what is good traffic and what is malicious
• DDoS mitigation review and fine-tuning for enterprise applications
• Work with Application / Product teams to improve L7 Security and overall website access experience
