Your Role:
We’re looking for a passionate and enthusiastic External Communications/Affairs Specialist to join VS&Co. In this role, you’ll play a critical role on VS&Co’s external affairs team by managing communications, media relations, and community engagement initiatives. The position involves research, content creation, media monitoring, and providing support during crisis situations. The ideal candidate should have strong writing skills, attention to detail, passion for retail and the ability to stay current on industry trends.

Your Impact:
Communications & Media Relations
- Draft and edit correspondence, such as press releases, corporate news stories, LinkedIn posts, responses to media inquiries and escalated customer service concerns.
- Manage media relations inbox, triage incoming requests and respond as necessary.
- Monitor media coverage and social media conversation and prepare summaries of relevant news articles and social media trends.
- Generate media coverage recaps following earnings, company announcements, etc. and distribute to necessary partners across the enterprise.
- Support proactive media outreach supporting strategic business initiatives, including philanthropic/community-related programs.
- Provide external affairs support in event of enterprise crisis.
Research & Strategic Support
- Assist external affairs team with developing and implementing external affairs strategies.
- Conduct research and compile data to support external affairs efforts.
- Track and report on key metrics related to external affairs activities.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices and report out to team frequently.
Impact Initiatives
- Support ESG rankings and reports responses and drive relevant impact storytelling on owned channels.
- Assist with planning and executing community events and sponsorships.

Minimum Salary : $66,200.00
Maximum Salary : $86,835.00
VS&Co provides an estimated range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual compensation will be determined by a number of relevant factors, including but not limited to your specific skills, experience, & geographic location.
Your Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, political science, government affairs, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research skills
- Highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
- Extremely agile
- Shows sound judgement in difficult situations
- Proven ability to work cross functionally and build trust with colleagues
- A passion for the retail industry and strong understanding of current retail trends
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in corporate communications, media relations or issues management position
