DESCRIPTION:
The Merchant supports the Director and China-based partners in delivering the volume and growth expectations for China, through comprehensive management of collections, and understanding and applying their financial acumen. They are the subject matter expert in areas including, but not exclusive of, assortment content, SKU management, testing initiatives, competitive intelligence and customer intimacy. They possess strong leadership skills and is ultimately responsible for driving cross-functional communication and motivating the team to be customer focused, innovative, and team-oriented in their work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Strategy
- Intimately understands global assortment strategies across all VS brands
- Provides recommendations and gains alignment from cross-functional leaders to influence key initiatives and assortment strategies in China
- Drives sales through “outside the box” thinking that connects the lines between financial patterns and market insights to identify growth opportunities
- Represents the assortment needs of the China business to cross-functional partners in the US
Product & Financial
- Leads the VS Beauty assortment strategy in China, collaborating with the China-based Beauty Planning team
- Influences the Intimates and PINK assortment strategy in China through close partnership with the China-based Merchandising team
- Owns the process of requesting China-unique products to the US Design team
- Understands the customer and the competitive environment
- Supports key meetings through deck preparation
- Accountable for sales and growth targets for VS Beauty, recognizing opportunities for incremental growth and risk management
- Analyzes and interprets financial results on a weekly basis to influence business strategy
Collaboration & Communication
- Builds productive relationships with Global counterparts to facilitate exchange of information, share best practices, and stay abreast of assortment strategy updates
- Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with cross functional teams by building rapport and communicating effectively
- Consistently demonstrates open mindedness and free thinking when problem solving
- Regularly shares customer insights and business recommendations in cross functional forums

Minimum Salary : $100,000.00
Maximum Salary : $144,375.00
VS&Co provides an estimated range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual compensation will be determined by a number of relevant factors, including but not limited to your specific skills, experience, & geographic location.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years with Merchandising experience
- Multi-category experience required
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence across different levels
- Proved strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills
- Demonstrated passion for delivering results while maintaining flexibility
- Anticipate next, ability to course correct and address change
- Intimate understanding of brand and target customer
- Ability to adapt well to diverse audiences and environments
- Proficiency in MS Office/Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising or a related field
