Software Engineer (MicroStrategy)
The primary purpose of this role is to provide production support to the MicroStrategy /Looker reporting platforms.
Responsibilities:
· Analyze day-to-day production issues reported by business, provide work around or permanent code fixes to resolve issues.
· Provide multi-tiered application support including – incident management, user, application and data issues, system availability and maintenance including on-call responsibilities as assigned.
· Analyze the performance and system capabilities continuously to identify and implement Continuous Service Improvements into the system.
· Design and develop and support schema objects, build grids, graphs, reports, documents, dashboards, and dossiers.
· Collaborate with product managers, business, and application platform teams to develop efficient and scalable reporting solutions.
· Review and approve code changes made by the development team to ensure that quality of code and deliverables are met before production rollouts.
· Support business users in their daily MicroStrategy & Looker reporting issues, report failures and data refresh issues and engage relevant teams to troubleshoot and resolve.
· Assist the business with ad-hoc and standard service requests that will involve complex analysis in MicroStrategy.
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree : (Engineering/BCA/B.SC (Comp Sc)/MCA)
Required Qualifications
· 3 – 5 years of experience in production support to the MicroStrategy reporting platforms
· Strong expertise in MicroStrategy Architect, Developer/Desktop, Web, Dossier, and Administration.
· Hands-on experience with Snowflake as the reporting database.
· Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
· Good understanding of Data Warehousing, ETL, and dimensional modeling.
· Experience in creating schema and application objects in MicroStrategy.
· Knowledge of Intelligent Cubes, Report Services, Distribution Services, and Object Manager.
· Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting BI applications.
· Excellent dossier design skillset, including UI/visualization aspects.
· Strong RDBMS skills that include writing complex SQL queries
· Good knowledge of MicroStrategy Object Manager, Integrity Manager, Command Manager, Web SDK, multi-sourcing
· Good Knowledge of Looker and LookML
· Experience with scripting languages like Python
· Strong understanding of retail technology and supporting business processes.
· Exposure in Control M enterprise scheduling tool
· Perform performance tuning and query optimization.
· Exposure on distribution services and transaction services
· Experience in Agile applications, JIRA, and Confluence
· Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with all levels of the organization and geographically distributed teams including onshore.
