POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Domestic Transportation leads a team of transportation professionals who collectively act as liaisons between business partners, trucking carriers, delivery agent hub providers, and parcel transportation carriers to design tactical and strategic operational solutions and deliver a transportation network with speed and predictability. This role leads a team of direct and indirect reports across the talent management cycle and ensures a team culture aligned with our company values; and one that is versatile and nimble, pro-actively responding to industry and business changes. This role leverages technology and reporting to drive and influence decision making, and to identify opportunities for speed initiatives or cost savings is highly important. This role requires the ability to influence senior leaders as well as to lead meetings and decisions across all levels of the organization. The network’s capabilities are to meet the required customer service and capacity requirements, while maintaining expense efficiencies. This individual is responsible for the strategic design of the network based on the requirements for service, process, and costs.
This is a unique opportunity to build the VS&Co Domestic Transportation Network and to cultivate and organize this team and help to continue our journey of Transformation
Ideally candidate should be based in Columbus Ohio as this is a hybrid role and the home office is in Reynoldsburg Ohio.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational ownership for North American transportation network including inbound linehaul, outbound linehaul, and projects to implement these functions including participating in the systems components of the implementations.

Creation of KPI & Performance Management for metrics

Cross-Functional Planning & Communication with key cross functional partners and third-party partners

Capacity planning management for inbound and outbound transportation lanes

Carrier engagement and management
-
Exception research/remediation
-
Freight Audit oversight and accountability for accurate invoicing and timely payment

TMS operational updates
-
Project Support (initial network launch and ongoing)

Drive changes in the supply chain through consistent process improvement.

Support sourcing and negotiation of new contracts with service providers to enable future growth initiatives

Effectively interpret and communicate analytical data & metrics

Act as strategic thinker with insight to anticipate needs and lead through changing business

Set and execute transformative goals and innovate and eliminate obstacles that impede growth

Assess and develop leadership talent for high performance and build depth of talent bench

Guide parties to alignment & partnership with key strategies, solutions, and problem resolution

Engage cross-functional partners at all levels; communicate persuasively, understand stakeholder interests while facilitating movement to end goals

Salaire Minimum : $152,300.00
Salaire Maximal : $216,090.00

Your experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience
-
10 + years of supply chain experience
-
Proven knowledge of domestic transportation supporting a hub and spoke environment, parcel shipping experience a plus
-
Demonstrated leadership capability, in a specialty retail business preferred

New network design, startup experience preferred
-
Understands fundamentals of contract negotiations

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
-
Strong analytical skills

Self-motivated and self-directed

Ability to lead projects and team initiatives from conception to implementation

Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization, both internally and externally

Operates successfully within a team-focused organization to achieve desired outcomes

Possesses strong organizational and communication skills

Possesses working knowledge and experience with technology and systems application used to support transportation and logistics operations and information requirements

Ability to travel up to 40%
