Position Summary:

This role is responsible for managing and developing the global transportation procurement operation. This position has direct communication with 3rd party transportation partners for all aspects of the RFP, negotiations, and contract process for new or renewed contracts and will be responsible to maintain the portfolio of existing contracts. Additionally, this role will facilitate/oversee/negotiate any rate reviews and negotiations outside of contracting periods including spot market rates, fuel updates, rate adjustments, peak surcharges, GRI’s, new lanes, etc.  There will be frequent interaction with cross-functional partners to inform procurement strategy, support network changes and outline financial impacts.

Job Responsibilities:

•                     Procurement Strategy Creation & Execution

•                     RFP/Bid administration, negotiation and contracting for all modes of transportation including ocean, air, parcel, delivery agent, trailer rental, truckload/LTL, etc.

•                     Develop and manage team to enable best-in-class performance

•                     Create, develop and maintain relationships and active communications with carrier partners and VS&Co leadership

•                     Benchmark and analyze current options and potential new carriers and services to enhance the overall experience

•                     Routinely provide industry updates and market intelligence to leadership, internal partners and production teams to facilitate proactive planning and execution

•                     Acts as a subject matter expert on behalf of the Global Transportation Procurement team
